New Flag for Annandale

On Monday, January 8th the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors recognized the civic pride and community spirit of Sami Kalifa, an Annandale businessman; the Annandale Chamber of Commerce; the Annandale Central Business District Planning Committee; the American Legion Post 1976; and the North American Vexillological Association, which resulted in a process to design the new Annandale flag unveiled in October 2006. Michelle Redmon, a student from Annandale, won the design competition for her artistic concept and symbolic motif used in the design of the flag.
